Description:
The Ultralight Articulating Night Vision Binocular aka UANVB ”Katana” is the lightest binocular on the market to-date at a functional weight of 504g complete with standard milspec optics and battery installed.
The articulating design allows users to use one eye or both eyes enabling the simultaneous use of a thermal optic or other non-passive aiming systems. This also enables users to operate vehicles without limiting head space by eliminating the need to stow the unit upright or to tuck the pods against the helmet when stowed.
UANVB ”Katana” is simple with a minimalist design. An onboard battery with no remote power keeps things simple and wires off the helmet. Push button on/off in the cap to reduce weight and reduce the footprint of the bridge. Individual pod power on/off when articulated to the side for single or dual eye use and to eliminate backsplash when stowed or rotated out.
An original new “Friction Lock Interpupillary Adjustment” feature allows users to quickly and easily set IP stop distance with a simple rotate into place and forget design. No tools or knobs.
This unit is light weight without compromising strength. It is rugged and exceeds MIL-STD-810H plus has been drop tested to the NATO 1.5 meter firearms drop test standard. Each unit housing waterproof is tested and unit is collimated before it is delivered to customer.
UANVB ”Katana” is designed and hand built in New Hampshire, USA.

Image intensifier tubes:
Device is supplied with NNVT Gen 2+ green and white phosphor image intensifier tube.
The NNVT Commercial or Military Grade Gen 2+ green and white phosphor image intensifier tubes provide incredible value for the cost and provide friendly price point without the significant performance sacrifices. NNVT intensifiers have good performance in mixed-lighting conditions.
NVT6 FOM1600+ image intensifier tube adopts new MCP processing technology and new photocathode process. It is equipped with autogating and has the characteristics of high all-weather reliability. Compared with NVT4, its sensitivity is increased to more than 800, and the SNR is greater than 25.
NVT7 FOM1800+ image intensifier tube uses the latest S25R photocathode manufacturing technology. The photocathode sensitivity is higher than 1000μA/lm@2856K, and it has high sensitivity in the near-infrared band. The spectral range is from 380nm to 1100nm, with higher spectral sensitivity in the near-infrared band, capable of imaging 1064nm lasers with halo reduced to less than 0.7mm.
